Joe Kline 15 January 1969 - Pleiku Province, the Republic of Vietnam. Blue Platoon troopers of 'C' Troop, 7th Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment, secure the crash site of a downed AH-1G Cobra Gunship. Ambushed by North Vietnamese regulars after retrieving the bodies of the two dead crewmembers, the men of 'C' Troop stubbornly held their ground. During the engagement, PFC Garfield Langhorn saved the lives of his fellow soldiers by thrusting himself on an enemy grenade.
