'Safe' by Keith Woodcock
Ground crew rush to the assistance of an 8th Air Force Consolidated B-24D Liberator as it slides to a halt after an emergency landing at an English airfield following damage sustained during a mission over Germany.  This print is signed and numbered by the artist, as well as co-signed by Col. Robert Vickers, who served with the US Air Force for over 32 years, initially flying with the 393nd Bomb Group of the 8th Air Force, from late 1944 in the B-24 Liberator.  In January 1945 his aircraft was badly damaged over Dresden, the whole crew bailing out after he had nursed the crippled B-24 to the safety of the Allied Lines.
