"Dies Irae" Day of Judgement

The B-17G-80BO, 4338263, was named "Dies Irae" by its pilot, Lt. Mowers. The name is from a section in the score by composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the Requiem in 'D' minor. Depicting the plane on Mission number 9, Cologne. Despite taking enormous amount of damage from the heavy German flak, the plane and it's crew were able to make it back to England safely.
