Quatre Bras (Black Watch at Bay)

At the height of the Battle of Quatre Bras, (16th June 1815), the French Cavalry almost broke through Wellingtons position. One Regiment of the 69th was decimated and lost its colours as it tried to form a square. The Black Watch receive a terrible mauling by General Pire's Lancers as it formed the square depicted here.
