The U.S.S. Yorktown CV 10 was christened as was her predecessor
by Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt on January 21, 1943.  Commissioned
on April 15, 1943 and commanded by Captain J.J. Clark , she was
the fourth ship to carry the name Yorktown.  She earned the
Presidential Unit Citation and sixteen battle stars for her service
in WW II and Vietnam.  The Yorktown is moored at Patriots Point, SC
.
