During the dark days of 1940, when Hitler's armies were poised for the invasion of Great Gritain, it was the fighter pilots of the Royal Air Force alone who stavedoff the German air force from accomplishing their mission of gaining supremacy of the skies over Great Britain. In Winston Churchill's words,
"Never in the field of human conflict
was so much owed by so many to so few."
